Gyeongsangbuk-do Office of Education expands international vocational training exports

The Gyeongsangbuk-do Office of Education is expanding its international cooperation from providing hardware to exporting the ‘K-vocational education’ model. The office is transitioning from simple digital equipment support to a comprehensive system of sharing educational expertise.

As part of its digital education initiative, the office is providing 485 pieces of IT equipment to the Central African Republic, Mongolia, and Ethiopia this year. This includes ‘R-computers’—refurbished devices made from decommissioned school computers that have been repaired and upgraded to promote resource circulation and bridge the digital divide. Notably, Ajin Industrial is covering the full shipping costs for 200 R-computers sent to the Central African Republic, marking a successful public-private partnership.

Furthermore, the office is launching a ‘K-vocational education export’ project in Uzbekistan. At the request of the Uzbekistani vocational education authorities, the program will implement a complete educational package, including curriculum development, teacher training, school management, and industry-linked systems based on the successful Meister High School model used in South Korea.
