Gyeongsangnam-do Hanwoo Competition recognizes top breeders

The 2026 Gyeongsangnam-do Hanwoo Competition has concluded, highlighting the quality and breeding excellence of cattle in the region. The event, organized by Nonghyup Economic Holdings Gyeongnam Headquarters and sponsored by Gyeongsangnam-do, aimed to evaluate livestock improvement and identify superior bloodlines.

In Miryang, farmer Seok Byeong-woo was named the overall champion after winning the top prize in the pregnant cow category. Additionally, farmer Han Seung-min received an encouragement award in the castrated bull category.

In Sacheon, farmer Jo Jeong-je achieved a notable milestone by winning an excellence award in the pregnant cow category, marking his fourth consecutive year of winning awards across various categories since 2023. Furthermore, Kim Hak-rae, head of the Sacheon branch of the Hanwoo Association, received a provincial commendation for his contributions to the development of the Hanwoo industry and the protection of farmers' rights.
