Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education hosts high school credit system briefing
The Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education held an information session for approximately 500 parents of middle school students at the Changwon Convention Center on the 25th. The event aimed to increase understanding of the high school credit system and provide reliable information for academic planning ahead of high school enrollment.
The session featured a lecture by Yoo Jae-woo, an official from the Ministry of Education’s High School Credit System Support Division, regarding changes in school life due to the system. The lecture covered the purpose and operation of the system, methods for selecting subjects based on student aptitude, the grading system under the 2022 revised curriculum, and major changes to the 2028 university entrance examination.
Following the lecture, the office provided a Q&A session to address specific concerns raised by parents through prior surveys. The second part of the event focused on the provincial office’s support policies and practical curriculum implementation plans tailored to local school conditions. Superintendent Kwon Soon-ki emphasized that the system is a core component of a future-oriented curriculum that allows students to design their own learning based on their career paths.
