Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education selects 8 schools for space innovation
The Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education has selected eight schools for its second phase of the school space innovation project for the second half of the year. The initiative will provide 300 million won to each selected school, totaling 2.4 billion won in support.
The selected institutions include Masan Girls' Middle School in Changwon, Wonpyeong Elementary School in Tongyeong, Susan Elementary and Samnangjin Middle Schools in Miryang, Majeon Elementary School in Geoje, Seochang Elementary School in Yangsan, Chilwon Elementary School in Haman, and Geochang Elementary School.
The project aims to redesign school environments to better align with educational curricula through a ‘user-participatory design’ approach, involving students and staff in the planning and design stages. This method seeks to move away from uniform school layouts toward spaces that foster communication and community. Since 2019, the office has completed space renovations for 289 schools and institutions.
