Japanese food brands launch autumn seasonal products and Meiji 100th anniversary promotions
Various Japanese food and beverage companies are launching seasonal products and anniversary celebrations for September 2026.
Meiji is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Meiji Milk Chocolate, which launched in September 1926. To mark the milestone, the company has released a commemorative TV commercial featuring the idol group FRUITS ZIPPER, depicting various Japanese eras from Taisho to Reiwa. Additionally, Meiji has partnered with McDonald's Japan to launch the ‘McFlurry Meiji Almond Chocolate’ on September 16, a dessert featuring crushed almonds and two types of chocolate sauce. Lawson is also participating in the anniversary by selling Meiji-branded chocolate croissants and white chocolate bread.
Other seasonal food promotions include:
• Qu'il Fait Bon: Releasing a limited-edition ‘Otsukimi Tart’ featuring pumpkin sauce and white sesame blancmange from September 15 to September 30. • Takano Fruit Parlor: Offering an ‘Otsukimi Parfait’ with seasonal fruits like pear, grape, and chestnut from September 19 to September 30. • Gyomu Super: Holding its ‘Autumn Grand Festival Part 1’ through September 30, featuring discounted frozen foods, rice burgers, and curry.
These initiatives focus on seasonal themes such as ‘Otsukimi’ (moon viewing) and the transition into autumn.
