Gypsy-Rose Blanchard apologizes for racist language in leaked prison calls

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard has issued a public apology following the circulation of leaked prison phone recordings in which she used racial slurs and made derogatory comments. The audio, recorded during her incarceration, featured Blanchard using the N-word and making disrespectful remarks regarding interracial relationships, specifically targeting her sister Mia’s fiancé, André.

In a statement posted to TikTok, which has since been deactivated, Blanchard took full responsibility for her actions, stating, “What I said was wrong. The words were racist and I take full responsibility for saying them.” She expressed remorse to the Black community for using hateful and demeaning language and noted that she had previously offered private apologies to her sister and André.

Blanchard, who gained notoriety for her role in the 2015 murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, emphasized that she is a changed person since her release from the Chillicothe Correctional Center in December 2023. She stated that she respects the boundaries of those affected and understands that healing occurs on their own timeline.
