Gyselle Soares withdraws from Piauí federal deputy race

Gyselle Soares, a former Big Brother Brasil contestant and candidate for federal deputy in Piauí, has withdrawn from her political campaign. Representing the Progressistas (PP) party, Soares announced her decision via social media, stating that she must prioritize her mental health to battle depression.

Soares explained that the pressures and uncertainties of being a woman in politics led her to reach her limit. She noted that she has been struggling with mental health challenges and traumas since her time on the reality show. In her statement, she emphasized, “I gave up on an election. I did not give up on myself.”

The Regional Electoral Court of Piauí (TRE-PI) has officially ratified her resignation, updating her status within the Electoral Justice Candidacy System.
