Göztepe President Rasmus Ankersen outlines long-term club strategy

Göztepe President Rasmus Ankersen has outlined the club's long-term strategic vision to ensure financial sustainability and competitive success in the Turkish Süper Lig. Addressing fans following recent poor results, Ankersen emphasized that the club aims to avoid the financial instability seen at Adana Demirspor, which suffered relegations after spending beyond its means.

Ankersen detailed a three-pillar project established over four years: implementing a high-tempo, physical, and direct playing style; building a squad of young, developing players rather than veterans; and creating a self-sustaining financial model. He revealed that Göztepe currently faces an annual operational loss of approximately 5 to 6 million Euros, making strategic player sales essential to offset costs without relying on external funding.

Regarding squad management, Ankersen noted that while the club has rejected high offers from Champions League-level teams to maintain stability, player sales remain a key part of their growth narrative. He also confirmed a strong working relationship with manager Stanimir Stoilov, noting that the club is working toward long-term goals, including competing in European competitions.
