HŽ Putnički prijevoz plans 44 million euro asset purchase from Gredelj

HŽ Putnički prijevoz is planning to allocate 44 million euros to purchase a portion of real estate and assets from TŽV-Gredelj. This move is intended to secure space for the maintenance and garaging of an increasing number of trains.

This acquisition is presented as a faster and more cost-effective alternative to constructing a new technical-logistics center in Zagreb, which was estimated to cost approximately 130 million euros. The plan aims to provide long-term technical capacity and consolidate business and operational functions as the company's fleet expands.

In addition to the property purchase, the company is increasing its total investment from 35.55 million to 87.12 million euros. This includes 33.04 million euros for new rolling stock, covering obligations for two electric-diesel multiple units and a 16.08 million euro advance for six battery-electric multiple units and a charging station in Kotoriba.
