Hà Tĩnh accelerates Ke Go reservoir flood drainage construction
Construction is underway to improve flood drainage capacity downstream of the Ke Go reservoir in Hà Tĩnh province. The project involves dredging the Rào Cái River and expanding flow channels to enhance water discharge capabilities for the surrounding areas.
Contractors have deployed specialized equipment, including high-capacity suction dredgers and excavators, to dredge riverbeds and reinforce banks at risk of erosion. In the Cẩm Yên – Rào Cái canal branch, approximately 5km of a 6km assigned section has been dredged. Work includes installing stone-filled steel cages to stabilize banks.
The project, part of package HT-15/2024/XL, aims for completion by late November 2026. While local authorities and investors are coordinating closely, engineers noted that weather conditions, particularly heavy rain and storms, remain a significant factor that could impact the construction timeline and technical requirements.
