Ha Tinh police arrest man for Facebook auto parts scam

Police in Ha Tinh province have arrested and detained Nguyen Van Bao, born in 1995, for fraudulent appropriation of property. Bao allegedly used a fake Facebook account to scam a victim by pretending to sell used truck cabins.

According to investigators, Bao targeted a victim through a Facebook group for auto parts. To build trust, he provided photos of his driver's license and identity card, along with stolen images of truck cabins found online. After negotiating a price of 30 million VND, the victim transferred 16 million VND across five transactions. Bao subsequently blocked the victim's contact information to avoid detection.

Bao has reportedly confessed to defrauding multiple victims across the country using various online methods. The Ha Tinh Provincial Police have officially initiated a criminal case and detained the suspect.
