Ha Tinh police prosecute man for 35 million VND gold theft
Ha Tinh Provincial Police have officially prosecuted Tran Hoang Duy Khanh, born in 1998, for theft under Clause 1, Article 173 of the Penal Code.
According to initial investigations, on April 26, 2026, Khanh entered the bedroom of a resident in Ky Thuong commune and stole three gold rings with a total value of approximately 35 million VND. Following the crime, Khanh sold the stolen items in the Song Tri ward area to fund personal expenses.
To evade capture, Khanh fled the locality and moved through various provinces in the Central Highlands region, frequently changing locations. Following coordinated efforts between Ky Thuong Commune Police and Ha Tinh Provincial Police, Khanh was apprehended and has admitted to the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
