Haaksbergen and Dieren Hold Successful Summer Art Markets

The annual Kunstmarkt in Haaksbergen, organized by Art4More, celebrated its 20th edition on 19 July. Around 7,500 visitors explored more than 100 stalls featuring paintings, sculptures, ceramics, photography and jewellery, all styled around a Dutch theme. The market opened with remarks from cultural broker Carlijn Hartlief and included live music by the cover band LowKey and performances by Het Stroat Ensemble.

In the neighbouring town of Dieren, the shopping centre hosted the first edition of “Kunst op het plein” on 25 July. Over thirty artists displayed a range of visual works, while visitors could take part in workshops such as needle felting and portrait drawing. The event also featured a fundraising stall for a chess‑robot for the local chess club SV Theothorne, and interactive activities by Buglab. Street performers, living statues and musical acts—including Amy van den Toorn and Connect Voices—provided continuous entertainment throughout the day.
