Haarlem Live music festival launches in city centre

The inaugural Haarlem Live festival runs from 12 to 16 August in the city centre of Haarlem, Netherlands. Headliners include Van Dik Hout, Gallowstreet, Fuse and Thijs Boontjes, while the bulk of the programme showcases local artists. Organiser Rianne Lourens says the event aims to involve neighbourhood businesses, allowing them to programme their own acts and attract distinct audiences.

A Social Safety Hub is set up on Spekstraat, staffed by a safety team and offering online reporting for unwanted behaviour. The festival opens on 12 August at 19:00 in De Schuur with a free screening of the musical classic *Les Parapluies de Cherbourg*.
