Haas F1 drivers face unequal battle due to technical inconsistencies

Esteban Ocon is facing a challenging period at Haas F1, with his performance being closely compared to teammate Oliver Bearman. After eleven Grand Prix races, Ocon has secured three points, while Bearman has accumulated 18. Statistics show Bearman leading in qualifying by 8-3 and finishing ahead of Ocon in seven of the eleven races.

However, the internal competition has been complicated by technical inconsistencies with the Haas VF-26. Bearman has noted that the duel has ‘not always been a fair battle’ due to the team’s struggle to provide both drivers with identical components. Haas has faced difficulties ensuring consistent performance levels across parts, leading to variations in downforce and balance between the two cars.

Ocon has described this as potentially the most difficult first half of a season in his career, citing frequent mechanical issues and a lack of car regularity. The team, led by Ayao Komatsu, continues to work on resolving these component inconsistencies that have affected both drivers at different stages of the season.
