Haas F1 team faces shortfall under 2026 budget cap
The 2026 Formula 1 budget cap has been set at $215 million per team. Haas, currently seventh in the constructors' standings, says it will operate below that limit. Team principal Ayao Komatsu explained that the team lacks the financial resources of its rivals and that its simulator and development tools are outdated. Komatsu added that securing a larger budget is a top priority, but the team must continue to work with the existing constraints while praising the staff’s dedication and skill.
The budget limitation aims to level competition, yet Haas expects to remain financially constrained throughout the season, impacting its ability to develop the car and compete for higher positions.
