Haas F1 Team targets budget growth and performance-led driver selection for 2027

Haas F1 Team principal Ayao Komatsu has addressed the team’s strategic direction for the 2027 season, focusing on both commercial partnerships and driver selection.

Regarding sponsorship, Komatsu confirmed the team is in discussions with several potential partners to increase its budget toward the limit of the F1 budget cap. This financial boost is intended to fund new personnel and infrastructure. While rumors have linked BWT to the team following its expected departure from Alpine, Komatsu noted that the team will not adopt a pink livery and remains vague about the final decision.

On the driver front, Komatsu emphasized that performance is the absolute priority for the 2027 lineup. He stated that the team will not select a driver based on manufacturer affiliations or commercial value if they are slower than other candidates. While Oliver Bearman is expected to continue, the second seat remains undecided, with several drivers reportedly interested in the position.
