Haas F1 to test young talents at Portimão circuit
Haas F1 Team is conducting a three-day testing program at the Portimão circuit in Portugal to evaluate young talent for potential future roles, including the 2027 season. The sessions involve Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) using last season’s VF-25, a program supported by technical partner Toyota.
Key drivers participating in the evaluation include Leonardo Fornaroli, a McLaren reserve driver, and Rafael Camara, a Formula 2 driver from the Ferrari Driver Academy. Ryo Hirakawa is also expected to participate. The testing serves as a high-stakes audition for upcoming Formula 1 seats, with Camara receiving significant support from Ferrari to prepare for a potential F1 entry. The presence of these prospects suggests Haas is actively assessing its long-term driver lineup, potentially impacting the position of current driver Esteban Ocon.
