HABAŞ to launch Turkey’s second domestic car brand

HABAŞ is preparing to launch Turkey’s second 100% domestically owned passenger vehicle brand following Togg. The company has acquired Honda’s former production facility in Gebze to facilitate this transition into passenger car manufacturing.

The project features world-renowned automotive designer Frank Stephenson, known for his work with Ferrari, BMW, and McLaren. Stephenson, who spent part of his childhood in Istanbul, is leading the development of the brand’s identity and design language, covering everything from initial sketches to 3D modeling and engineering support.

The initial phase of production will focus on two body types: sedan and crossover. To meet diverse market demands, the vehicles will be offered with three different powertrain options: gasoline, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid. The company aims to introduce these new models to the public by the end of 2026.
