Habichtstraße U3 station to receive second access point

The HOCHBAHN has received approval to construct a second access point for the U3 Habichtstraße subway station via Dieselstraße. The planning approval decision was issued by the Authority for Economic Affairs, Labor and Innovation on September 4.

The project aims to serve approximately 4,700 residents, about 1,600 of whom will be connected to the rapid transit network for the first time. The expansion is a response to increasing residential density and several completed or planned neighborhood developments in the area.

Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2027. The project involves an investment of approximately 15.35 million euros, with the necessary financial commitments secured this year. The new access will feature a staircase descending from the platform into a new entrance building located in the railway embankment, which will also house technical rooms, a ticket machine, and rolling shutters.
