Hacı Bektaş Veli commemorated on 755th anniversary in Nevşehir

The 755th anniversary of the passing of Hacı Bektaş Veli was commemorated in the Hacıbektaş district of Nevşehir, Turkey. Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the event was held under the theme “We Have Our Word for Unity.”

Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy attended the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of Hacı Bektaş Veli’s teachings on love, brotherhood, and truth. Ersoy noted that the historical call to “be one, be large, be alive” remains a vital message for humanity in addressing modern issues such as racism and intolerance. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to preserve Alevi-Bektashi culture for future generations.

A message from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was read during the program. In his message, Erdoğan described Hacı Bektaş Veli’s principles of viewing “seventy-two nations with a single gaze” as a guide for national unity and peace. He reaffirmed the commitment to upholding the legacy of peace and coexistence established by the spiritual leader.
