Hacıakif Island attracts nature enthusiasts in Beyşehir Lake
Hacıakif Island, located in Turkey’s largest freshwater lake, Beyşehir Lake in the Beyşehir district of Konya, is emerging as a notable destination for nature tourism. Spanning approximately 2,650 decares, the island features diverse natural attractions including hiking trails, caves, and scenic viewpoints.
The Beyşehir Trekking and Nature Walking Group recently organized an excursion to the island, traveling by boat from the Yeşildağ Pier Nature Park. Participants explored the Hacıakif Cave, known for its stalactites and stalagmites, and climbed two separate peaks to view the surrounding lake and mountain landscapes.
Mustafa Büyükkafalı, President of the Beyşehir Culture and Tourism Association, highlighted the unique experience of being surrounded by nature. Local stakeholders expressed interest in further developing the island's tourism potential, given its status within a national park and its unique geological features.
