Hacı Bektaş Veli commemorated in Nevşehir on 755th anniversary

The 755th anniversary of Hacı Bektaş Veli’s passing is being commemorated in the Hacıbektaş district of Nevşehir, Turkey, through a series of cultural and religious events. The program includes visits to the Hacı Bektaş Veli Museum, Tomb, and the Horasan Erenler Dergâhı Cemevi.

High-ranking officials, including Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, are participating in the ceremonies. The events aim to highlight the spiritual and cultural legacy of Hacı Bektaş Veli, emphasizing his teachings of unity, tolerance, and brotherhood as a response to modern issues like discrimination and social division.

The commemoration features various cultural activities, including Semah performances, music concerts, and the screening of a promotional film. To increase international awareness of the Bektashi heritage, the Presidency of Communications has organized the participation of journalists from six countries, including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Greece.
