Hacemos Córdoba criticizes municipal budget execution and sports investment
The Hacemos Córdoba municipal group has criticized the local government's management of urbanism and sports budgets. The coalition reported that the Urbanism Management department has only executed 34% of its 2026 budget, despite approximately 40 million euros being planned, with nearly 62% of those funds coming from remnants.
Critics argue that the lack of investment leaves essential projects in limbo, including the Parque Chinales Green Ring, the renovation of the Iron Bridge, and the remodeling of Claudio Marcelo. Furthermore, the group noted a lack of funds for acquiring buildings in the historic center for affordable public housing.
Regarding sports, the group denounced the budget for the Córdoba Municipal Sports Institute (Imdeco), claiming it neglects neighborhood needs. They highlighted a lack of investment in facilities in Parque Azahara and Santa Cruz, as well as pending maintenance for the El Fontanary pool and municipal weight rooms. Hacemos Córdoba warned that failing to maintain public facilities pushes citizens toward private gyms, disproportionately affecting those with lower incomes.
