Ha‑Chan, Shake Your Booty! Trailer Highlights Rinko Kikuchi's Grief‑Drama Ahead of September Release

Sony Pictures Classics released the official trailer for “Ha‑Chan, Shake Your Booty!”, the Sundance 2026 breakout starring Oscar‑nominee Rinko Kikuchi. The film follows Haru, a Tokyo ballroom‑dance competitor who retreats after her husband’s death, then returns to the studio and becomes infatuated with a new instructor, Fedir. Critics praised its blend of vibrant dance sequences and a meditation on love and grief.

Directed by Josef Kubota Wladyka, who co‑wrote the screenplay with Nicholas Huynh, the movie also features Alberto Guerra, Alejandro Edda and other performers. After its Sundance premiere, Sony Pictures Classics acquired the rights and plans a limited U.S. theatrical launch on September 25, 2026.
