Hacker Samuele Calamucci receives plea deal in Equalize investigation
Milan prosecutors have authorized a plea bargain for hacker Samuele Calamucci, who is under investigation for unauthorized access to confidential databases. Calamucci has been sentenced to three years and four months, receiving a reduction in his penalty due to his cooperation with investigators in the Equalize inquiry.
However, investigative records reveal that Calamucci’s cooperation involved significant fabrications. He admitted to creating false documents and inventing entire scenarios to influence the perception of other individuals involved. This included fabricating the existence of a group of 40 British analysts and a researcher named Monica Illsley. Carabinieri investigations confirmed that Calamucci used two WhatsApp profiles to generate fictitious chat logs to support his false claims.
