HackerNoon Announces $2,500 Shipaton Writing Contest for Mobile App Builders
HackerNoon, an independent technology publishing platform, announced the launch of the Shipaton Writing Contest in partnership with RevenueCat. The global competition invites developers, founders, designers and students taking part in Shipaton 2026 to document their mobile‑app development journeys and compete for a $2,500 cash prize.
The contest runs from August 1 to September 30, 2026, alongside the official Shipaton competition, and the prize pool is separate from Shipaton’s own awards. Participants can publish build logs, technical deep dives, product decisions, RevenueCat integration details, growth experiments, launch stories and post‑mortems.
“Building an app involves far more than the final product users see in an app store,” said David Smooke, Founder & CEO of HackerNoon. “Through this contest, we want builders to document that process and share practical knowledge with the wider technology community.”
