Hadhramaut launches disaster response training and scientific forum
In Hadhramaut, Yemen, several regional initiatives have been launched focusing on disaster response and academic research. Engineer Hisham Al-Saidi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Valley and Desert districts, inaugurated a five-day training course in Seiyun aimed at enhancing disaster preparedness and response. Organized by the Yemeni Red Crescent Society in coordination with Civil Defense and supported by the International Committee of the Red Cross, the program seeks to improve the readiness of volunteers and civil defense personnel to handle emergencies.
Simultaneously, the Yemeni Scientific Society for Creed and Religion Sciences hosted the first scientific forum for Yemeni researchers in Seiyun. Titled ‘The Yemeni Creed School: Scientific Foundations and Contemporary Renewal Prospects,’ the event brought together 70 researchers for five sessions. The forum focuses on the historical contributions of the Yemeni creed school, its role in addressing intellectual deviations, and the future of religious studies in the region.
