Restoration work has been completed on 1,600-year-old mosaics located in the reception hall of a palace complex at the Hadrianopolis Ancient City in the Eskipazar district of Karabük, Turkey.

Excavation leader Prof. Dr. Ersin Çelikbaş stated that the restoration of the 'triclinium' area took approximately three to four months. A team of 12 to 13 expert restorers worked to stabilize the mosaic structure, fill gaps with appropriate materials, and clean the surfaces. To ensure long-term preservation, measures have been taken to protect the site from rain and winter weather conditions.

The mosaics are notable for containing two distinct motifs that have not been previously documented in existing literature. These findings provide new insights into the aesthetic understanding and local workshops of the Early Byzantine period. While the restoration is complete and the mosaics are ready for public viewing, Çelikbaş emphasized that the site will require regular annual maintenance and inspections.
