South Korean Haeran Ryu sets record low round and wins Evian Championship
South Korean golfer Haeran Ryu shot an 11‑under‑par 60 in the third round of the 2026 Amundi Evian Championship, the lowest score ever recorded in an LPGA major. The round gave her a three‑stroke lead heading into the final day. Ryu said she only realized the historic score after counting the card with her caddie.
Ryu defended her lead in a sudden‑death playoff, birdieing the first extra hole to defeat Canada’s Brooke Henderson and claim her second major title in three weeks. The win earned Ryu $1.4 million, the largest prize of the $9.1 million purse, and marked a back‑to‑back major victory following her Women’s PGA Championship triumph.
Runner‑up Henderson finished solo second, while Japan’s Aki Iwai took third place. The tournament, held at Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian‑les‑Bains, France, featured a record‑low round that eclipsed previous 61‑stroke majors set at the same venue.
