Hafeez Tahir condemns AI‑generated Ainak Wala Jin film as theft

Veteran Pakistani writer and director Hafeez Tahir, creator of the iconic children’s series *Ainak Wala Jin*, publicly denounced a newly released AI‑generated feature‑length movie that adapts his original concept. The film, marketed as Asia’s first AI‑generated feature and released in cinemas on July 24, was produced by director Farhan Khan without consulting Tahir or the original broadcaster PTV. Tahir called the project “daylight robbery,” criticizing the altered appearance of the character Nastoor Jin, the replacement of original voices and music with AI‑generated versions, and the overall loss of the series’ spirit. He suggested he may pursue legal action, noting that the original series aired from 1993‑1996 on PTV and remains a beloved part of Pakistan’s cultural heritage.
