Hafia FC eliminated from CAF Confederation Cup by AS Douane

Hafia FC has been eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup following a 0-1 home defeat against Mauritania’s AS Douane at the Stade du 28 Septembre in Conakry. Despite a 2-2 draw in the first leg in Nouakchott, the Guinean club failed to advance after conceding a decisive goal in the 75th minute from a Mouhsine Bodda free kick.

Despite dominating much of the match and creating several opportunities, Hafia FC could not overcome the Mauritanian defense, even under heavy rain and difficult weather conditions. The loss marks an early exit for the former African champions from the continental competition.

Hafia FC coach Cheick Guèye took full responsibility for the defeat during a post-match press conference. He offered apologies to the Guinean people, noting that despite the weather and local flooding, supporters turned out in large numbers to support the team. Guèye attributed the loss to the team's inability to convert chances and the singular effectiveness of the opponent.
