Hafiz Saeed faces second NIA non-bailable warrant in Kashmir terror case
A Special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Jammu has issued a second non-bailable warrant against Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Saeed within a two-month period. The warrant is connected to an investigation into a terror network allegedly involved in supplying weapons, funds, and instructions to militants in the Kashmir Valley.
The investigation was triggered by the arrest of Mohammad Naqeeb Bhat in Pandach, on the outskirts of Srinagar, where authorities recovered a China-made grenade and 15 live rounds. Subsequent probes uncovered links to LeT and its offshoot, The Resistance Front (TRF), leading to the arrest of several suspects, including two Pakistani nationals.
The NIA informed the court that Saeed, a resident of Sargodha, Pakistan, is currently operating from Pakistan and is deliberately evading arrest. While Pakistan maintains that Saeed is serving prison sentences in Lahore for terror financing, Indian intelligence agencies allege that elements within the Pakistani establishment continue to shield him.
