Häagen-Dazs to end operations in Brazil after 30 years

Häagen-Dazs is ending its production and commercialization in Brazil after nearly three decades in the market. The premium ice cream brand first entered the Brazilian market in 1997.

General Mills, the multinational corporation responsible for the brand, stated that the decision is part of a global portfolio restructuring. The company is reorganizing its business to concentrate investments in other priority areas. This move follows a broader reorganization plan announced in March 2026 and coincides with the sale of part of General Mills' Brazilian operations to Grupo 3corações.

Following the announcement, Eduardo Bolsonaro commented on the news via social media, using irony to link the brand's departure to his father, former President Jair Bolsonaro.
