Hai Phong attracts $3.47 billion in FDI amid shift to quality investment
Hai Phong has attracted approximately $3.47 billion in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), with roughly 2,000 foreign-invested enterprises contributing more than 20% of the city’s total domestic revenue.
In response to this growth, the city is shifting its strategy from simple capital attraction toward developing a strategic investment foundation. This new approach prioritizes investment quality, technological innovation, value addition, and stronger linkages with domestic enterprises.
To support this transition, the Hai Phong People’s Committee has implemented administrative reforms, including a “green lane” mechanism to reduce processing times for specific investment-related procedures. Local leadership has emphasized the city's commitment to providing an enabling administration and high-quality services to the business community.
