Hai Phong authorities seize tanker with 70,000 liters of oil

Customs authorities in Hai Phong, Vietnam, intercepted a tanker carrying over 70,000 liters of FO diesel oil and various other goods without proper documentation. During a patrol on July 31, officials stopped the vessel HP-3789 as it moved toward the coast.

In addition to the diesel, authorities discovered 41 containers of paint and hardeners originating from Indonesia, Malaysia, and China. Upon inspecting the vessel's living water tank, officials also found approximately 591 million VND in cash. The crew claimed the cargo was purchased from a Panamanian-flagged vessel. The Hai Phong Customs Department is currently working with local police to investigate the smuggling attempt.
