Hai Phong City Gives Free Health Exams to Over 2.2 Million Residents

Hai Phong's health department has completed free medical examinations and created health‑record files for more than 2.2 million people, representing about 52.7 % of the city’s permanent population. The campaign focused on vulnerable groups: over 158 000 children under six received clinical checks and physical assessments, more than 863 000 school‑age students were screened for vision, dental problems and spinal curvature before the new school year, and roughly 257 700 seniors were examined for hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disorders and other chronic conditions.

In addition, 19 073 pregnant women received ultrasounds and routine prenatal care, while 175 300 industrial workers underwent occupational‑disease screening. Deputy Director Phan Huy Thục and Deputy Chairman Vu Tiến Phụng highlighted the political priority of universal health care and launched a "90‑day acceleration" drive to achieve full coverage by 2026, linking the effort to nationwide electronic health‑record initiatives (VNeID).
