Hai Phong leads Vietnam's 2025 FTA Implementation Index
The 2025 FTA Implementation Index for Localities has been released, ranking provinces and cities on their ability to deliver on free trade agreement commitments. Hai Phong secured the top position with a score of 35.62, significantly exceeding the national average of 21.66. Other high-ranking localities include Tuyen Quang, Thanh Hoa, Vinh Long, and Ca Mau.
The index, which surveyed 4,066 companies across various sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, and mining, aims to provide a clearer picture of how businesses perceive the quality of FTA implementation. Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan noted that the index has improved in methodology and data quality to better center business perspectives.
Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc emphasized that international economic integration should serve as a catalyst for institutional reform, innovation, and productivity. He urged local authorities to ensure that FTA commitments translate into substantive outcomes that strengthen both corporate competitiveness and Vietnam’s national standing.
