Hai Phong officials address bottlenecks in Southern Coastal Economic Zone
Hai Phong Chairman Do Thanh Trung recently met with officials from six communes within the Southern Coastal Economic Zone to address obstacles facing key development projects. These projects include the Nam Do Son Port, an LNG thermal power plant, a free trade zone, and various industrial park and transport infrastructure developments.
The Southern Coastal Economic Zone is considered a new economic growth driver for the city. Key industrial parks involved include Tan Trao, Ngu Phuc, and Tien Lang 1. Recent reports show strong performance in the region, with communes like Kien Hung achieving over 93% public investment disbursement and Kien Hai completing site clearance for resettlement areas related to the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project and the Van Uc 2 Bridge.
The Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board has requested city support to resolve issues regarding the Hai Phong LNG power plant and to accelerate investment for the initial berths of Nam Do Son Port, which aims for completion before 2030. Other priorities include speeding up the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway and improving connectivity between the free trade zone and the port via the Van Uc 2 Bridge.
