Hai Phong police detain director for extortion and pollution

The Hai Phong Criminal Police Department has temporarily detained three individuals for involvement in extortion and environmental pollution. The group allegedly used legitimate business entities as a cover for criminal activities near the An Phat 1 Industrial Park.

Phung Van Huy, director of HT88 Environment Co., Ltd. and manager of Green Environment 93 Co., Ltd., is identified as the leader of the group. Huy and two employees, Nguyen Huu Loi and Dinh Ngoc Quy, were taken into custody on October 26.

Investigations revealed that Huy established HT88 Environment Co., Ltd. in 2023, registering services such as waste collection, industrial cleaning, and land leveling. Authorities are continuing to expand the investigation and have requested that any victims of the group contact the Hai Phong Criminal Police Department to provide relevant documentation.
