Hai Phong vendor fined for misweighing crab sold to tourists

On July 26, officials of the Do Son ward People's Committee in Hai Phong conducted a spot‑check of seafood stalls in the tourist area. Led by Phạm Hoàng Tuân, the inspection uncovered that vendor Trần Thị Thi was using two different scales on the same crab – one reading 0.8 kg and the other 1.2 kg – and was selling sub‑standard “cua óp” crab to visitors.

The authorities recorded the violation, ordered the unsellable crabs to be released back into the sea, and issued a written reprimand to Trần Thị Thi with a pledge not to repeat the conduct. The ward committee emphasized continued surprise inspections to protect consumer rights and preserve the reputation of Do Son’s tourism and seafood trade.
