Hai Van Pass: 6 women fined for posing in road for photos
Six women have been fined for obstructing traffic after posing for photographs in the middle of a dangerous curve on the Hai Van Pass in Da Nang, Vietnam. The incident occurred on October 17 at the Km905+400 bend, a section characterized by steep slopes and limited visibility.
According to the Hoa Hiep Traffic Police Station and Hai Van Ward Police, the group had hired a car from Phu Loc, Hue, to visit the pass. The women requested their driver to stop, walked into the center of the roadway, and posed for photos requested by a tourist while vehicles continued to pass closely by.
Authorities identified the act as a serious safety violation that threatened the lives of both the group and other motorists. The six women were issued administrative fines totaling 1.5 million VND for the act of “unlawfully gathering in large numbers to sit on a road and obstruct traffic.”
