Haight Street Art Center to host Metallica visual art exhibition
The Haight Street Art Center in San Francisco has announced ‘The Art of Metallica’, an exhibition exploring the band’s visual identity spanning over 40 years. The showcase will run from November 5, 2026, to January 10, 2027.
A central feature of the exhibition includes the original paintings used for the iconic album covers of ‘Ride the Lightning’ (1984) and ‘Master of Puppets’ (1986). The display will also include original concert posters and flyers ranging from the band’s early performances to their most recent tours, as well as a dedicated section for the artist Pushead.
Curatorial advisor Brian Lew described the exhibition as a story of “individuality, evolution, rebellion, and artistic vision.” The collection will further feature logo evolution sketches, fan-collected banners, photographs, and vintage merchandise.
