Hailee Steinfeld releases song ‘Magic’ for Disney film Hexed
Actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld has released a new song, ‘Magic’, which is a cover of the 1984 track by The Cars. The song is featured in the upcoming Disney animated film, Hexed, which is scheduled for theatrical release on November 25, 2026.
Steinfeld, who voices the lead character Billie Doe, recorded the track with her childhood friend and producer, Demitri Lerios. The recording took place in a makeshift studio at her home in Buffalo. Steinfeld noted that the creative process felt particularly meaningful as she recently became a mother, connecting her personal life to the film’s central mother-daughter story.
The film Hexed follows a teenager who discovers magical abilities and travels to a witch realm called Hexe. The voice cast includes Rashida Jones as Alice, Jodie Foster as Queen Celeste, and Walton Goggins.
