Hainan Airlines flight diverts to Siberia due to technical fault

Hainan Airlines Flight HU753, an Airbus A330-300 traveling from Beijing to Manchester, was forced to make an emergency landing in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, on August 15, 2026. The diversion occurred approximately four hours into the flight after onboard sensors detected a mechanical fault while the aircraft was over Siberian airspace.

Russian emergency response teams were deployed to Krasnoyarsk International Airport as a precaution. The aircraft landed safely at 6:28 a.m. local time, and all 230 passengers and crew members evacuated without injury. No damage to the aircraft or airport facilities was reported.

Hainan Airlines issued a statement apologizing for the disruption and confirmed that a replacement aircraft is being dispatched to Krasnoyarsk to transport the passengers to their final destination in the United Kingdom.
