Hair expert warns against common missteps in hydration, nutrition and reconstruction routines

In a May 2026 interview in São Paulo, Dr. Ali Syed, a chemist and CEO of Avlon, explained the three core hair‑care processes—hydration (replacing water in the fiber), nutrition (restoring lipids) and reconstruction (repairing internal structure). He cautioned that many people misread dryness as merely a lack of water and apply only hydrating products, which can leave lipid loss or structural damage unaddressed. Accurate diagnosis, he said, leads to better product choices and avoids over‑loading any single treatment.

A related consumer guide listed five clear signs that hair urgently needs hydration: a rough, non‑silky texture; loss of shine; excessive frizz; split ends and frequent breakage; and easy tangling after washing. The guide recommends using moisturizing masks, avoiding excessive heat, applying leave‑in conditioners, regular trimming and maintaining a balanced hair‑care schedule.
