Haiti and Mauritius issue income tax filing updates

In Haiti, the Direction générale des impôts (DGI) has announced that the deadline for submitting final income tax returns is January 31, 2027. The filing period runs from October 1, 2026, to January 31, 2027, and applies to public officials, private sector employees, and Haitian employees of international organizations. For the 2025-2026 fiscal year, the DGI will continue to use the previous tax scale due to the principle of non-retroactivity, despite the promulgation of a new Tax Code. The current scale includes rates ranging from 0% for income up to 60,000 gourdes to 30% for income exceeding one million gourdes.

In Mauritius, the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) reported that 301,955 individual income tax returns have been filed since the campaign began on August 26. As of October 19, the MRA has collected Rs 2.27 billion in tax revenue and issued Rs 826.8 million in refunds. Taxpayers have until October 30 to submit their declarations and settle any outstanding dues. The MRA is encouraging the use of its electronic services to meet the upcoming deadline.
