Haiti beats New Zealand 4-0 in World Cup warm‑up in Fort Lauderdale

On June 2, Haiti defeated New Zealand 4‑0 in a friendly at Fort Lauderdale's Chase Stadium, part of its preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Goals came from Ruben Providence (12'), Lenny Joseph (51'), Frantzdy Pierrot (62') and Markhus Lacroix (87'). Coach Sébastien Migné praised the team's collective performance.

The victory marks Haiti’s return to the World Cup after a 52‑year absence and positions the team ahead of its Group C matches against Brazil, Morocco and Scotland. A visa delay kept midfielder Woodensky Pierre from the lineup until halftime. New Zealand, preparing for its first World Cup since 2010, saw captain Chris Wood reach 89 caps despite the loss. The All Whites will conclude their friendlies against England on June 6.

Haiti’s next warm‑up fixture is scheduled against Peru on June 6 before the tournament begins.
