Haiti eliminated from 2026 World Cup after 4-2 loss to Morocco

Haiti's national football team exited the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a 4-2 defeat to Morocco in the final Group C match at Mercedes‑Benz Stadium in Atlanta, United States. The defeat left Haiti without a point and confirmed their elimination, following earlier losses to Scotland (0‑1) and Brazil (0‑3). Coach Sébastien Migne, a Frenchman who has not set foot in Haiti for two years due to security concerns, praised his squad for showing character and nearly making history. He noted that the team's presence at the tournament, the first World Cup appearance for Haiti since 1974, brought hope to the nation.

Only one player, midfielder Woodensky Pierre, is based at a Haitian club; the rest of the 26‑man squad play abroad. The match saw Haiti take a 2‑0 lead early, but Morocco rallied in the second half to win 4‑2. Migne said the team will leave the tournament with heads held high despite the loss. The absence of home games since 2021, caused by gang violence after the 2021 assassination of President Jovenel Moïse, adds further significance to the team's World Cup participation.
