Haiti rehabilitates Communal Agricultural Bureau in Cerca-la-Source

Haiti’s Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR) has inaugurated the rehabilitated Communal Agricultural Bureau (BAC) in Cerca-la-Source. The project was completed with support from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

Minister Marcelin Aubourg led the inauguration alongside the Central Departmental Agricultural Director, Robert Joseph Sylvestre, and the FAO Representative in Haiti, Pierre Vauthier. The initiative is part of a field mission to monitor interventions and strengthen the ministry’s institutional presence among rural producers and communities.

Minister Aubourg described the rehabilitation as an investment in bringing public agricultural services closer to producers. He urged the bureau to serve as a tool for supporting farms, developing production, and promoting rural development. The Minister also expressed gratitude to the FAO and local authorities for their contributions to the renovation.
